Theatre

Students may begin their theatrical journey at Golden Brook School, then continue in ever-expanding programs at Windham Center School and Windham Middle School. Each of the elementary and middle schools put on one show per year, typically in the spring. As an educational theatre program, shows are chosen to highlight a variety of acting, vocal, dance, and stagecraft techniques so that students are exposed to many theatrical opportunities.

The Windham High School Theatre Company traditionally produces three shows a year:  a full-length play in the fall, a student-directed one-act in the winter, and a full-length musical production in the spring. Students participate in these shows as actors, producers, directors, designers, and stage crew. All students who sign up are guaranteed a role either on stage or behind the scenes, as is their preference.

In addition to the three productions each season, a group of students are selected to participate in the New Hampshire Educational Theatre Guild Festival each year. Other opportunities include trips to see professional theatre throughout the New England area, as well as other types of student-driven productions developed as part of independent theatre internships.
