The Windham School District instrumental program begins in grade 3. Students have the opportunity to try all of the instruments available through exploratory band. When students are in grade 4 they have the opportunity to start with beginning band and string lessons.  These lessons are offered in a group format. Grades 5 & 6 offer students their first real large group band and orchestra experience. This large group experience continues through middle school and high school.  Our students that really want to excel are offered honors and jazz opportunities as well. 

 

As students progress in their musical education, opportunities to participate in festivals, adjudicated events, and travel rich in music curriculum increase.
