For the Love of Music Gala
On February 8, 2019 the Windham Musical Arts Association held its second annual For the Love of Music Gala fundraiser at Castleton Banquet Facility. The event included dinner, dancing, live music from the band Pop Roks, raffles, a wine pull, and a silent auction.
Guests were greeted with complimentary Lindor Truffles donated by Lindt Chocolates. Each place setting was adorned with Gala signature sugar cookie favors, created and donated by Janet DeBruyckere. The room was festive with decorations featuring hearts and music.
Center to the dance floor sat the VIP guests, Windham music teachers Becky Pierce, Nancy Fothergill, and Sheila Cuneo, and the musical arts department intern, Shannon Lundin. The director of Fine Arts, Susan Veilleux, and several members of the Windham School Board, joined the event later in the evening following the Windham School District Deliberative Session.
Guests enjoyed a delicious meal and dessert followed by the pulling of the raffles and silent auction. Pop Roks filled the air with lots of hits from the past and present, and the dance floor was full late into the evening.
The event was very successful thanks to the support of our wonderful community. WMAA raised money that will directly benefit our school music programs--the exact amount will be determined in the coming week and announced at the following WMAA board meeting.
